The BSCI is a "development-oriented approach" and internationally recognized, a business-driven initiative for companies committed to improving working conditions in the global supply chain. The BSCI unites hundreds of companies around one common Code of Conduct and supports them in their efforts to build an ethical supply chain by providing them with a step-by-step development oriented system, applicable to all sectors and all sourcing countries.
The implementation of social standards in the area of responsibility, in accordance with a uniform procedure of the direct - importing retail trade from various European countries. Importing trading companies from different European countries developed the uniform BSCI Monitoring-System. "The Business Social Compliance Initiative is the broadest business-driven platform for the improvement of social compliance in the global supply chain of commerce. More than 690 companies are already member of the BSCI and share a comprehensive monitoring and qualification system covering all products sourced from any country. Social audits to be conducted within this system will be recognized in the future by all trading customers involved.
